Disclaimer and Release (make sure you read and understand)
I, the undersigned, hereby declare and agree that I am participating in this event of my own free will and entirely at my own risk. I do so in full knowledge of the risks associated with riding a motorcycle on a public road. These risks include, but are not limited to, the risk that I may suffer harm, personal injury or loss of life as a result of an accident, including a collision with other participants in the Honda Snowy Ride 2010 (‘SR’), other road users and/or spectators of the SR. I also acknowledge that the SR runs through the Snowy Region of NSW and that many of the roads are narrow and tight with no marked centreline or lane markings (and are used by heavy vehicles), which may give rise to particular risks to a motorcycle rider. I acknowledge that the road from Thredbo to Cabramurra is only 60kph and 80kph and is a heavy rock fall area. I am aware that there will be a great number of motorcycles and local traffic in the area on the SR weekend so undertake to observe caution particularly when overtaking and passing oncoming traffic.
I warrant that I am in a fit state of health to participate and that the motorcycle I will be riding or on which I will be a pillion passenger, will be in good repair and condition during the SR. I agree to abide by the rules laid down by the organisers of the event and to ride my motorcycle in compliance with NSW road rules at all times during the event.
To the greatest extent possible under the law, I waive any and all claims or legal actions I may have at any time against the Steven Walter Foundation, sponsors, organisers and officials of the SR (together ‘the SR Organisers’) or any of their employees, officers, agents or volunteers when acting in their official capacity as organisers of the event, in respect of any liability, loss or costs arising or that may arise at any time, directly or indirectly, from my participation in the SR. I also agree to indemnify the SR Organisers and any of their employees, officers, agents or volunteers, for any liability, loss or costs that they may incur at any time arising or that may arise, directly or indirectly, from any act or omission on my part (whether negligent or otherwise), including, but not limited to, my failure to abide by the rules of the event (including NSW road rules) or directions given to me by any member of the SR Organisers or any of their employees, officers, agents or volunteers, during the SR.
I, and my sponsor(s) reserve all rights and entitlement to make any claim or bring any legal action against any participant(s) in the SR (but not including any SR Organisers or any of their employees, officers, agents or volunteers while acting in their official capacity) in respect of any loss or damage suffered by me, or my sponsor(s) arising directly or indirectly in respect of myself and/or my motorcycle.
The SR Organisers do not endorse any additional rides or other events which may be organised by participants or others during the period in which the SR occurs. The SR Organisers take no responsibility for liability, loss or costs arising out of participation in these other rides or events, which participants engage in at their own risk.
I understand and acknowledge that it is my responsibility to make all insurance arrangements in respect of myself and/or my motorcycle. As a rider, I further warrant that I am, and will be whilst participating in the event, the holder of a current motorcycle licence and will be riding a currently registered motorcycle.
I acknowledge the information provided in this form may be passed on to the sponsors and beneficiaries of the event. I acknowledge that the Steven Walter Foundation shall own all right, title and interest in and to any photographs taken and/or video footage recorded on the ride containing my name, likeness, image, voice, interview, personal profile and performance which may be used at their discretion.
If you are under 18 years of age you will need to download an entry form and have a parent or guardian sign and mail or fax to the Snowy Ride.
